Well . . . A wonderful photographer friend ( John Barrett ) took this image a few months ago. My beard was longer than usual as I was pondered the possibility of acquiring the stage name Odysseus - these are the kind of mild inanities artists are apt to spend time on.
Although I love all the photos from the session and imagine I look quite seafaring' adventurous in a 'mythic' kind o' way - my sense of self-deprecating humour and sarcastic eye detects another personality - quietly waiting his moment - in that weathered face . . . yup, Popeye!
It never pays to take yourself too seriously! D
