Me and Neil Young. 1966

I remember, quite vividly, one particular concert my band The Offbeats played at. We were opening for Chad 'n Jeremy and the Buffalo Springfield in some godforsaken shopping mall - I was 15 at the time. There weren't many music venues yet, it was still a new frontier, which explains how two top ten artists came to be headlining in a shopping mall! Anyway, just as we were packing up and getting ready to leave, two roadies - frantically carrying a semi-concious Neil Young between them - appeared in the dressing room. His epilepsy, a secret at the time, was quite severe and he'd had a fit and passed out near the end of the 'Springfields' set. At the time, I thought it was drug - induced . . . which was really cool and rock and roll . . . in the 60's.
